Be prepared to immerse yourself in our next « Man and the Sea » pop up store.
For the occasion, French Wink is pleased to welcome the French artist Carole Jury and to invite you to discover her oil paintings series called « Dark Seas » at Martial Vivot Salon pour Hommes, 39W 54th street. If you like the French painter, Pierre Soulages, Carole's artwork will remind you of him, as he is one of her main inspiration.
« Through painting, I feel anything is possible…The viewer can imagine anything and everything he wants », says Carole.
Her custom series of oil black paintings will perfectly fit in the elegant environnement of the Martial Vivot salon, an luxury and intimiste men grooming salon located in front of the MOMA.
Speaking of environment and as the artist says « A painting needs to be made one’s own. It’s a kind of secret space where everyone can find one’s own personal refuge ».
Carole also finds her inspiration in photography, which gives her the sense of textures and reliefs for her work. When she is working, once the background of her canvasses is ready, she uses diverse tools such as spoons or knives to create her paintings.
Thus, her artworks are mainly abstractions and not representations.
Carole is also interested by interior design and she needs to imagine her paintings in a home surrounded by design furnitures. Not a surprise then that she has been chosen as a residence artist by BO Concept store in Princeton where she lives.
« Relief, lights, brightness and nuances of colors have oriented my artistic works ». The city of New York itself seems to correspond to that idea.
The very good news is that you have all the summer to enjoy her artworks at Martial Vivot Salon Pour Hommes, 39W 54th street, by the MOMA.
