The story behind the family-owned luxury French watchmaking studio created in 1947

IT'S ABOUT TIME! We're finally opening the doors of the first American Pop-Up Store of Michel Herbelin at 251 Elizabeth Street in New York City. The pop-up store will be open from November 7th to November 11th and will feature three distinctive collections with various styles for men and women.

Designed and made in France, the collections consist of fashionable timepieces that imitate art. It takes approximately 12 to 18 months for a watch to go from the drawing board to the shop window. In the last century, Michel HERBELIN founded his eponymous brand as an independent family-owned traditional French watchmaking company in Charquemont, in the region of Haut-Doubs near the Swiss border. Set in the heart of Fine Watchmaking country – close to its main suppliers to ensure absolute control over production – the company has its own design studio within the workshops where watches are assembled. Beautifully made in a price range from $400 to $2,500, Michel Herbelin watches are exclusively equipped with Swiss movements. Heir to a watchmaking tradition stretching back over 70 years, this Jura brand is spurred on by the passion of a family that has seen three generations take up the craft since 1947.

Created in 1947 by Michel Herbelin, the company is now run by his sons and grandsons. We'll have the pleasure to welcome Michel’s grandsons : Maxime and Mathieu, respectively in charge of marketing and design in the company. We'll offer a nice meet&greet with both of them on Friday 9th from 6 to 8pm. Details below.
